Life for farm animals is rarely as idyllic and relaxing as we imagine it to be. Most animals are not allowed to roam freely in open fields, but are raised in factory farms where they are subjected to endless pain and fear until the day they are sent to become food. This is an incredibly tragic reality for the majority of farm animals in the U.S., but a few lucky ones are rescued from this terrible fate by farm animal sanctuaries. These sanctuaries offer animals a refuge where they are free to live as nature intended and are treated like individuals, not commodities.
Bruce, the duck, and Jasmine, the piglet, are two very fortunate farm animals who were saved by Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Jasmine is a relatively new rescue at the sanctuary, but she has been quick to make friends. Pigs are very emotional and curious creatures, so it took Jasmine no time at all to build up a whole following of playmates.
