This crispy okra is a really is a delicious and healthy finger food for any occasion.

Crispy Okra [Vegan, Oil-Free]



For the Okra:

  •  2lb Okra
  • 1 cup Plant based milk
  • 1/2 cup Whole spelt flour
  • 1 1/2 cup Spelt bread crumbs
  • Pink Himalayan salt to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

For the Aioli:

  • 1/2 cup Cashews
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Organic yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Himalayan pink slat to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Chives, minced


For the Okra:

  1. Wash okra and trim off the stems.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour with milk, salt and pepper until smooth.
  3. Prepare a separate bowl with the bread crumbs, right next to the first bowl.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. By using a fork, dip each okra into the batter first, until fully covered.
  6. Let the excess butter drip for a second or two and quickly transfer to the breadcrumbs.
  7. Cover each side by using a fork until totally covered and gently transfer to your baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20min.
  9. When ready, set the oven on broil and bake for another 10min.
  10. Serve with Aioli

For the Aioli:

  1. Blend the cashews, water, lemon juice, mustard, salt, pepper, and garlic in a blender until smooth
  2. Garnish with chives
