How to Prepare Apple and Veggie Sausage Oatmeal [Vegan]

    1. Cook sausage links according to directions.
    2. Bring milk to a boil, add oats, and reduce heat to medium. (If you'd like to add a teaspoon of flax or chia seeds, do so now.)
    3. Dice apple into small pieces and add immediately to the saucepan.
    4. Once more of the liquid has absorbed, add vanilla extract, cinnamon, maple syrup, and salt. Stir.
    5. Cut sausage link diagonally into 1/2-inch slices and stir into oatmeal (you could also save some for a topping).
    6. When you're pleased with the consistency of the oatmeal, transfer to a bowl. Add a splash of your milk of choice and any other additional toppings (more maple syrup, nuts, etc.).
