Taylor Swift is set to perform two highly anticipated concerts in Madrid on May 29 and 30 as part of her “Eras Tour,” with the Bernabéu Stadium as the grand venue. An impressive crowd of over 130,000 fans is expected to attend the shows over the two days. Beyond the music, concertgoers are in for a culinary treat, thanks to Swift’s collaboration with Spanish plant-based meat company Heura.
Founded in 2017, Heura has rapidly expanded its presence in the international market. In 2023, the company reported a 63% growth in international sales, fueled by new collaborations and innovative product launches. Recently, Heura introduced its first alternative seafood product and York-style plant-based ham slices and even opened a plant-based butcher shop in France. The company’s partnerships extend to airlines like Iberojet and alliances with Dutch food company Upfield.
Swift’s request to include a variety of meat-free dishes at the Bernabéu aligns with her ongoing commitment to promoting conscious consumption. Her advocacy for sustainable living is well-documented. In 2023, she made headlines for showcasing vegan clothing made from eco-friendly materials in New York. Her previous concerts have also featured plant-based food options, such as those provided by Mexican startup Propel Foods in Mexico City and vegan shrimp from the Ish Company in Tampa, Florida.
Concert attendees in Madrid can look forward to a diverse and flavorful plant-based menu. Options include a burger with pickles, salsa, and vegan cheese, sandwiches with spicy bites, sundried tomato, iceberg lettuce, and black garlic mayonnaise, and the Original Bites Wrap marinated in mustard mayonnaise. These offerings are selected for their high nutritional value, with Heura products boasting more protein and micronutrients, and less fat than traditional meat.
