Publix, the largest employee-owned grocery store, just released their own vegan chicken tenders to their stores. This vegan meat alternative is now available at 1,200 store locations.
Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous, said, “Customers are requesting more plant-based options to incorporate into their diets. By developing these meatless products under our trusted private-label GreenWise brand, we are offering our customers high-quality options to Support their lifestyle.”
With their customers in mind, Publix released their Greenwise meatless burger this April. Along with other plant-based meat options, including jackfruit. They have already made it clear that they plan to grow their list of plant-based options in order to keep up with the growing demands for meat-free options.
Publix is just one of the many grocery stores that have started to launch their own lines of plant-based meats. Last year, Kroger expanded their Simple Truth line by an additional 50 products. Many of those being plant-based alternatives such as cheese, meat substitutes, and dressings.
The Publix vegan chicken tenders are made to have that traditional chicken tender flavor. They are battered and fried with a deliciously meaty texture made of pea protein, fava bean protein, and pea fiber.
We can look forward to seeing many new plant-based products coming to Publix through their GreenWise line.
