Allison Lyn Gaiser, a 44-year-old woman, recently found herself facing serious charges after allegedly leaving her French bulldog behind at the airport before jetting off to a resort in Mexico. The incident occurred on August 4th when Gaiser attempted to bring her beloved pet onboard a flight departing from Pittsburgh International Airport. However, the airline denied boarding for the dog due to its failure to meet the criteria for an emotional Support animal and a lack of a proper kennel, which is a requirement for pets.

Rather than making alternative arrangements for her pet’s care, Gaiser chose a shocking path. She left her brown-and-white dog in its stroller and proceeded to board her flight, abandoning her pet in the airport’s short-term parking lot.

Surveillance cameras captured Gaiser pushing the dog in the stroller toward an exit area before leaving it unattended near the glass exit doors. Fortunately, a county police officer discovered the dog around 40 minutes later. Despite the traumatic experience, the dog was found unharmed and was identified through its license and microchip. The abandoned animal was subsequently handed over to an animal care facility, where it was placed in a foster home. According to authorities, the dog is recovering well in its new environment.

Gaiser’s actions did not go unnoticed, as she was met by law enforcement upon her return to the airport on August 10th. When questioned, Gaiser admitted to leaving her dog behind due to the airline’s refusal to allow it on the plane. She claimed to have arranged for her mother to pick up the pet, but text messages reviewed by the police revealed that no immediate arrangements were made for the dog’s care.

The aftermath of this incident has left Gaiser facing serious charges of animal cruelty. Her initial court hearing is scheduled for October 16th.
