Baby elephants are cheeky and inquisitive little creatures with a penchant for making us smile –and this little guy is no exception.

In a snippet of a short film from BBC Africa, we see a baby elephant happily chasing off a flock of egrets. Why? For fun, of course. Look at him go! There’s an even more interesting dynamic to this video when you remember that birds are smarter than we give them credit for. When you see things like birds being chased around by slow land animals, the birds are messing with them too!

This video certainly gives us a wonderful window into life for wild elephants and proves, yet again that this how we should observe them – wild, free and happy. Seriously, who needs zoos or circuses?!
