This video features the band The New Hot 5 performing “When the Saints Go Marching In” to a very curious and musically inclined herd of cows in Autrans, France.
Cows are gentle, intelligent, sensitive and social animals that are unfortunately abused and exploited so we can use them for their milk, meat and hides. A cow’s natural lifespan is about 25 years, but cows used by the dairy industry are killed after only 4 or 5 years. Beef cattle on the other hand are typically slaughtered after about 15-20 months. A veal calf (male calves) that are born on dairy farms are taken away from their mothers soon after birth and raised until about 18 – 21 weeks, before they are slaughtered.
If you haven’t done so already, consider going vegan. After all, cows and other animals would rather be living out their natural lives (perhaps listening to jazz), rather then being abused and eventually killed.
