The compassionate rescuers at Animals Aid Unlimited never cease to amaze us, and this rescue of an unconscious dog named Chestnut is no different. The transformation began after the dog was found on the side of the road covered in flies. He was unresponsive to sound, touch, and everything around him. Rescuers believed he was hit by a car and suffered brain damage.
Back at the shelter, caretakers named him Chestnut and began lifesaving treatment. Their hard work, dedication, and kindness paid off, because two days later, although still weak, Chestnut woke up! He began eating and slowly built back his strength. He still couldn’t walk without falling over, but he didn’t give up, and his new friends didn’t give up either. It took some time, but now you would never think this happy and playful boy was near death. He still has so much life to live, and thank goodness for the kind souls who helped him!
Chestnut recovered from what many would have ruled impossible, but Animals Aid Unlimited continues to prove the power of love goes a long way.
