Our dogs are good for so many things. They keep us company hanging out at home, join us on our daily dog park trips, and keep a close and watchful eye as we eat our dinner. One thing most pet parents have surely experienced, though, is the power of a dog (or cat for that matter) as an alarm clock. For some dogs, the sun rising is enough excuse to wake their mom or dad up.
This handsome German Shepherd thinks the clock turning to 6:30 a.m. is all the reason he needs to say “rise and shine.” And he has learned the trick to efficiently get Dad out of bed. By not only jumping on and over his dad, but also literally lifting his Dad’s head off the pillow, this dog has got his morning routine down to an adorably annoying science. But then again, what puppy parent doesn’t love waking up to their favorite doggy face and a happy, wagging tail?

My GSD does this too and as he burrows down behind my head he always nudges the alarm clock with his nose so that it turns the backlight on
