We’ve all heard the saying, “A man’s best friend is his dog.” Dogs are some of the best companions to have because they’re loyal, friendly, and protective. Like cats, they can also provide therapy to someone who’s been traumatized or suffers from PTSD. Animals can alleviate emotional pain by providing company, and physical pain by playing or working out with their human friend. So, it seems logical that a soldier returning from Afghanistan would want this unconditional love as a gift, and that’s just what the soldier in this video, Sergeant Chris Deluca, got!
Before returning home, Chris had written to Animal House for Real, requesting a Burnese Mountain dog, but was told they were all out and wouldn’t be getting any soon. This was not the case, though. His wife had been planning all along to surprise him and it looks like she succeeded because Chris truly seems surprised, even teary eyed. What a great homecoming for him! Getting to be greeted by old friends and a new one.
