National Geographic will soon be releasing a six part series showcasing the amazing behaviors of wild animals. The series will debut on September 13th, and will stream on Disney+. Called Animals Up Close with Bertie Gregory, the series will capture the lives of animals around the world.
In one clip from the series, a male Sea Lion is shown defending his pups from a Galapagos shark. The video shows the brave Sea Lion dad chasing the large shark, who soon swims away from the pups into deeper waters. The Sea Lion then returns to his pups.
The series makes use of technology such as drones to capture rarely seen animal moments such as this. Additionally, the team of adventures travel far and wide to see these moments. Other notable animal interactions from the series include a stand-off between humpback and killer whale pods, and a sheepdog protecting his charges from a marauding puma.
