Guardians for the Voiceless is a non-profit dedicated to educating impoverished children and rescuing homeless animals from the streets of India. They believe that by raising children to become ambassadors for animals, the future will be a better place.

While on a rescue mission, Guardians for the Voiceless team members spotted a homeless dog with a severe eye infection covered in maggots and flies. The dog’s disposition was very friendly, almost as if he knew they were there to help him. The dog they named Yoko was brought to the care facilities and administered an IV, given medication, and underwent a procedure to remove the maggots from his eye. Yoko’s energy levels increased and he gained an appetitite, but his fight is not over yet.
