On Christmas Eve, @keepingfinn found a pup in the middle of a busy intersection, and being the amazing rescuer he is, they took the pup in and tried to find her home.

They called the local shelters and posted her photo everywhere they could online in hopes of finding her humans. After living with them for four days, they got a credible lead that sent them just across the street from where they had first found the pup. It was less than a mile from where they found her at the intersection.

When they got out of the car, the pup’s body language completely changed. They did not even have an address of where they needed to go to look for her humans, but the pup led them exactly to where she needed to go. She got so excited as they got closer and led them up a flight of stairs and straight to the door of a home. As soon as they opened the door, the pup was so excited she was jumping up and down, so happy to see her humans again.

The pup, Lucky, was so excited to be home, and her humans thanked @keepingfinn so much for saving her and bringing her home. They said one last goodbye to Lucky and went on their way.

According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice an animal on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
