Brilla is a Pit bull who was born blind, sadly because of this disability, she was scheduled to be euthanized at a shelter. Thankfully, before this could happen, she was pulled last minute by the Cincinnati rescue group Adore-A-Bull Rescue, which specializes in bully breed rescues.
A week later, Brilla found her forever home with a loving family and soon had a mom, dad, and even a baby human brother. They taught her how to go on walks, jump in the car, go up and down stairs, but like most dogs, her favorite game of all is fetch. In the video above, Brilla plays with her dad in the park, and she is clearly having a ball! We just love to see her run, jump and squeak her ball with delight. Brilla is truly an inspiration and shows that no matter what obstacles life hands you, there is joy all around us.
According to her parents in a Facebook post, “Brilla had a great personality, and we didn’t want her to be fearful, so we never let her be afraid. We had to teach her to go on walks (she was scared to go anywhere at first), and other normal dog stuff like jump in the car, walk up and down steps, go for a run …We trained her to be confident in herself, and we’ve taught ourselves to be more observant to keep her safe since we’re her ‘seeing eye humans.'”
It’s heartbreaking to think that without the help of caring individuals from Adore-A-Bull Rescue, Brilla would have never had the chance to play with a ball or know the love of a family.
