What’s cuter than a newborn elephant? You may be saying to yourself “there is nothing cuter than a newborn elephant.” Well, here are pictures and a video to prove you wrong. The only thing cuter than a newborn elephant is newborn elephant twins.

Curve, an elephant who resides at the Pongola Game Reserve in South Africa, gave birth to twins early this month. Elephants have a less than one percent chance of giving birth to twins, and if they do, one of the calves is likely to not survive. Unfortunately, mother elephants have a hard time producing enough milk to sustain two calves. In order for both calves to survive, the mother has to have plenty of resources and be in a stress-free environment. To ensure this, scientists are giving Curve the space she needs to raise her calves.

The two new calves, who have not yet been named, can be seen following closely behind Mom at the Pongola Game Reserve.

Scientists are giving Curve space to raise her calves in a stress-free environment.

Mom keeps a close eye on her new babies with the help of other females in her herd.

There is no doubt these two new babies are the cutest duo around.
