The extent of brutality and violence certain people inflict on innocent animals is always shocking and disturbing, and this case of animal cruelty from Bangladesh is unbelievable and difficult to stomach. We warn you, the following describes a graphic, violent incident.
Two mother dogs and fourteen puppies had their heads bashed with rocks and their bodies beaten with rods until they were unconscious. The puppies were then stuffed into a bag, and all sixteen innocent animals were then buried alive in a pit that had already been dug, showing these brutal crimes were without a doubt premeditated.
These heinous crimes were done by a group of people led by a security guard, who is the only person currently under investigation by authorities. The only reasoning the culprits had for doing all of this was an unproven claim that one of the dogs had bitten someone in the area. Even if this were so, it does not at all warrant brutally beating and burying these animals alive.
Animal abuse and torture has been outlawed In Bangladesh since 1920, and the culling of dogs has been banned since 2012, for the sake of safety for both animals and people.
The people who committed these acts are dangerous people, as those who commit acts of violence against animals are five times more likely to commit a violent crime against humans. Each and every one of these individuals who took part in this inconceivable act must be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law to show that Bangladesh does not tolerate animal cruelty.
A petition has been set up on Care2 demanding justice for these sixteen dogs and asking the Bangladesh Police Inspector General to investigate further and prosecute everyone who took part in these heinous crimes.
Please take a moment to sign this petition in Support of these dogs, and please share this with your friends and family and ask them to stand up against animal cruelty with you.
