Meet Penelope Sue, one of nine piglets who were born to rescued pig mamma Piggy Sue.
Edgar’s Mission rescued Piggy Sue from a factory farm, where she served as a breeding sow. Breeding sows are used as baby machines, kept in gestation crates, cages so small that sows can barely stand up, let alone around. These crates are so cruel that many states are taking actions to ban them. Thanks to Edgar’s Mission, those days are over for Peggy Sue, and any piglets she has can stay with her forever.
Especially this little one, Penelope Sue. She’s the runt of the litter, according to Edgar’s Mission, so she will need a bit more care than the rest of Peggy’s babies. Penelope Sue is a constant reminder to the sanctuary of how clean pigs like to be, as she “demands to be taken outside for ‘toilets.'” See, pigs like to be clean!
