There are about 70 million stray animals living in the U.S. and only about six to eight million cats and dogs enter the nation’s 3,500 shelters every year. Of those animals who make it to a shelter, only about three to four million cats and dogs get adopted. Given these staggering numbers, animal shelters work around the clock to ensure the animals in their care are comfortable – and in the case of one little dog from Texas, his gratitude literally shows.
City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue note on their Facebook that they have, understandably, received many adoption forms for Cheech. The rescue also wants to point out that there are hundreds of other deserving dogs, just like Cheech, who need a forever home, too. To learn more about the animals in their care, click here. And if you’d like to make a donation to Support their vital work, you can so here.
