At a protest in Minneapolis, 37 year old nurse and researcher Alex Pretti was killed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Witnesses say Alex intervened after agents pushed a woman who was serving as a legal observer to the ground. He was trying to help. Instead, multiple ICE agents restrained him and allegedly shot him multiple times in the face.

Alex was a U.S. citizen and had committed no crime. Video footage from several angles reportedly shows him holding a phone, not a weapon. Two witnesses later filed sworn affidavits supporting this account. Even some gun rights organizations have called for accountability, highlighting how serious the incident appears. Despite this, officials have attempted to justify the killing with claims contradicted by video evidence.
