Is there anything more amazing than the sight of wild animals walking freely through their natural environment, without having to put up with oppressive human interference in their activities? We think not, which is why we love to bring these stories to you!
The video above captures the amazing moment that a wild baby elephant, closely guarded by his mother, passed close by a group of field researchers at Gondwana Game Reserve, South Africa. The Reserve is home to two elephant herds, and with the birth of this new baby, the total elephant population has now increased to twelve individuals. Researchers said that it was “very rare to see such a young calf walking so openly.”
One thing is for sure – with momma elephant walking him through the savannah so gently, to meet another senior elephant towards the end of the video, the new calf is sure to grow up surrounded by love!
