Hurricane Harvey is forcing many families to evacuate to emergency shelters, where pets are not permitted due to possible allergic reactions from other people at the shelters. As a result, animal guardians are unwillingly relinquishing their beloved pets to animal shelters.
Thankfully, many dedicated animal rescue groups and organizations are on the ground helping the animal and human victims alike. One group is MuttNation, founded by singer and songwriter, Miranda Lambert. The nonprofit fights against dog homelessness and animal cruelty. They do this through spaying and neutering, adoption, education, transportation, medical treatments, and more.
And just when we thought we couldn’t love Miranda any more than we already do, People reports that she is on the ground with MuttNation, saving dogs displaced by Hurricane Harvey. Amazing!
