This poor kitten got his lucky break when a woman noticed him stuck in a storm drain and rescued him in St. Albans, West Virginia.

Members of the St. Albans Volunteer Fire Department came out to perform the amazing rescue, and although he was wet, cold and probably terrified, the kitten came out of the whole situation in good health and was taken to a local animal rescue shelter. Shelter staff planned to rehabilitate him and put him up for adoption.

Although this kitten will most likely be adopted after this video of his amazing story reaches the world, there are many kittens all over the country who never get the chance to find their forever homes. Many of them end up in overcrowded shelters in areas where there just aren’t enough loving, caring homes for all of them. Sadly, this results in the euthanization of three to four million animals a year, mostly dogs and cats.

What can you do to solve this problem?

Spay and neuter your pets  and always choosing to adopt a pet rather than shop for one. With these in mind, we can ensure that kitties like this little guy in the video find loving forever homes.
