Outfitted with a little cape with a big letter “K” emblazoned on the back, Kayak the hedgehog is taking life by storm. Rescued by the Hedgehog Welfare Society (yes, there is such a thing–how awesome!) Kayak could barely walk he was so weak. He soon came to live with a loving family who would help nurse him back to health.
It was clear that Kayak was suffering from malnutrition, but the enthusiasm with which he began to eat his first bites of food gave rescuers hope. This determined little hedgehog nearly doubled in weight over the course of two days thanks to his new diet and proper care.
Not only has Kayak recovered the ability to walk, but he has learned to skateboard, run on his little wheel, and has set out on a mission to save the world as “Super Kayak.”
Well, perhaps the last part is a bit of an exaggeration, but he is certainly an inspiration. Kayak’s caretaker explains that this little hedgehog has taught her the importance of never giving up. As she states in the video, “If you fall, fall with enthusiasm…and then get back up!”
