The average American ate 1,966.3 lbs. of food in 2011, nearly a ton, according to USDA’s Economic Research Service, with dairy topping the list at 631.9 lbs!
This fascinating new infographic by LiveScience.com also highlights that Americans are eating 170.4 lbs of meat in 2011 on an average per year, as compared to 158 lbs in the 1980’s and 31.4 lbs. of cheese, as compared to 17 lbs. in the 1980’s.
