Horses Run Free in Central London, Again

horse running

On Monday, three horses ran through the streets of central London after one was startled by a bus, causing two others to throw off their riders, according to the Army.

The incident happened during a routine exercise by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. Five soldiers were riding six horses when a riderless horse got spooked, prompting two other horses to bolt. While one horse was quickly caught, two others made it to Vauxhall Bridge, around 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) away.

None of the soldiers were injured, and one horse sustained minor injuries, which did not require further treatment.

This event brought back memories of a more chaotic scene in April when five horses escaped, resulting in serious injuries to two of them. However, the horses involved in Monday’s escape were not part of the April incident.
