When Hope for Paws received a message about a homeless poodle, on the streets of Los Angeles, who was possibly injured, they rushed to the scene after finishing up another rescue. The dog was huddled in a corner of a building and when the rescue team approached, he was clearly scared. It took several attempts to get a lucky leash around the terrified dog, but their persistence paid off!

The dog, now named Yankee Poodle, calmed down once he was secure and got some rubs and pets. The team was able to get him back to their hospital so he could be neutered and get a good bath.

Once Yankee Poodle had recovered,  Hope for Paws asked Rescue From the Hart if they would be willing to help foster him and they happily said yes. Yankee went to foster with their trainer David Graham and his family.

Seeing this pup run around with his new family, you’d never believe Yankee Poodle was the same dog found frightened on a sidewalk. Now Yankee spends his days running and playing with his new best friend, David Graham’s son. It’s evident that the love of this little boy transformed Yankee.

Fortunately, Yankee Doodle found a loving forever home and couldn’t be happier!
