While you’d certainly never be able to tell from the looks of him now, the pup featured in this video didn’t always have such a wonderful life. Melios, as he was named by rescuers, was found abandoned on the side of the road in a rural area in Greece over 20 miles away from the nearest city.
When rescuers first found him, he looked extremely tired and was clearly starving. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that he had a broken front leg, and demodex (a skin parasite similar to mites) were eating off huge chunks of his coat. Thankfully, once he was in their care, his luck started to improve.
We don’t know how anyone could abandon a dog like Melios, according to his caretakers, he’s calm, kind, and loves to cuddle so much that he would follow people on the highway when he was homeless just to give them snuggles!
Regardless of how Melios ended up abandoned on the streets or the pain he experienced during his time there, we are so pleased to know that he is now getting the love and affection he always deserved!
