Heartbreaking Viral Video Shows Lonely Dog Left Outside in the Rain

A heartbreaking video shows a lonely dog chained on a patio in the rain. Shared by the TikTok account @jholynaa, the video has gone viral on TikTok. Currently, it has been watched over 77 million times.

In the video, a brown and white dog is seen on a balcony in Mandaue City in the Philippines. The lonely dog sits under an overhang. However, the building does not stop him from being soaked by rain. Accompanying the video is a caption that reads, “If you can’t love a dog like a family member. Don’t get one!”

The lonely dog quickly had TikTok users pleading for someone to help him. Later, a follow-up video shared that an animal welfare organization visited the dog’s family. During this visit, they learned that the pup is named Milo. After speaking to the dog’s humans, they discovered that the dog had been moved to the patio after a fear-based biting incident. When the video was taken, Milo’s human was out and was unable to bring the dog inside. 

However, after speaking with the animal welfare organization, Milo’s people have since built a shelter for the pup. Additionally, they are bringing him inside more often. According to the video, Milo also receives several walks each day and is not left chained up for the entire day.

Despite this, many people are still calling for Milo to be rehomed. Many have pointed out that the chain that the pup is kept on is unreasonably short and does not offer him very much mobility. Heartwarmingly, an overwhelming number of people have offered to adopt the lonely dog.
