As he sits in quiet contemplation, his lips curling meditatively around the windowsill, he wonders why he can’t go outside right now. He asked his mama for permission to go outside and play, but she said no. Was it because he just had a bath? Was it because he’d been naughty earlier? Or was it just because his mama was too tired herself? He doesn’t know.
So, he pouts. He pines. He even tries to live vicariously through the Labrador. He imagines himself splashing in the water, playing tag with his friends. Maybe someone would bring a tennis ball and they could all play fetch. Maybe he could go outside tomorrow…
