In a video taken at Elephant Nature Park in Thailand, this baby elephant is having the time of his life splishing and splashing in the water with his toy tire. The baby elephant takes the tire into the water to play but soon realizes that the water is super, duper fun all on its own. It’s not long until he starts frolicking in the stream, hopping and skipping around – making sure to splash lots of water everywhere. How fun!
Elephant Nature Park is an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center that has helped to save dozens of elephants, including baby elephants who have been orphaned. There are only about 30,000 Asian elephants left in the world. Sadly, many of the remaining elephants in Thailand (about 3,000 – 4,000) live in appalling conditions in the logging and entertainment industries.
To help these incredible beings, sanctuaries such as Elephant Nature Park provide a haven for them to live free from this cruelty. We hope that one day all elephants will get to live as carefree as this baby elephant does.
