Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, a volunteer, and foster based rescue organization in New York, recently saved a mama dog and her puppies from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. The dog, now named Helena, and her puppies were surrendered by their owner, a scene all too familiar in animal shelters across the country. If it wasn’t enough for Helena to survive in dismal living conditions with her seven nursing puppies, this sweet girl also has a mammary tumor that is infected and ulcerated.
Helena has been suffering for far too long and thanks to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, she is finally receiving the care she so desperately needs.
Helena needs surgery ASAP to remove the huge tumor but as you can imagine, the costs are sky-rocketing for Rescue Dog Rocks NYC. If you are able to donate towards Helena’s care, you can do so here. Let’s come together to help this sweet mama dog!
Please always spay and neuter your pets and urge your friends and family to do the same. Fostering an animal is also a great way to help end the pet homelessness crisis. Regardless if you open up your home to a dog, cat, bird, small pets, pig, any pet, you can feel wonderful knowing you have saved a life and cared for a pet who will soon find his or her forever home.
