Do you have a box of tissues handy? You might want to get some before reading this story! But don’t worry, you’ll be crying happy tears.
When Trio Animal Foundation (TAF), a non-profit animal rescue organization based in Chicago, Illinois, got a call about a dog named Eastwood who was living in horrendous conditions, nothing could prepare them for what they were about to see.
We are so thrilled for Eastwood and his new family! Sadly, there are still many cases of animal cruelty that happen every day and it’s important to know what to do if you ever come across a situation of animal abuse.
There are signs to look out for when identifying animal abuse and neglect. It’s also good to remember that law enforcement and animal control departments highly advise against citizens taking matters into their own hands. As much as it angers you to see an animal being abused or neglected, you could end up putting yourself in a dangerous situation when confronting an animal abuser or trespassing on someone’s property to rescue an animal. It can take more than reporting animal abuse to the authorities, so to help in prosecuting the abuser, the best thing you can do is document the details, dates, and times of any incidents and contact animal control immediately. By speaking up for the voiceless, you have the power to help a dog just like Eastwood.
