Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is an all volunteer and foster rescue group based out of New York. The non-profit has helped countless animals, they just recently helped rescue critically ill puppies found behind an abandoned home. And now, in a particularly touching rescue story, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is coming to the aid of a dog who was left in a carrier in a vet’s parking lot overnight along with a heartbreaking note.
Thankfully, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC notes that no seizures have been observed so far. If you’d like to help contribute to Joe’s care, you can make a donation here. Every little bit helps!
With six to eight million animals entering U.S. shelters every year, one way to help solve the pet overpopulation crisis is to first try to keep pets in their homes and out of the shelter system. Thankfully, there are many resources available for those who may be struggling to afford their pet. As pet guardians, it is our responsibility to make sure we are doing what’s best for our beloved pets!

At least these people did not throw the pooch in to an isolated area or let him free run. I understand some times the animals vet care can be pretty costly. May be people need to start taking at least the Basic pet Insurance so that the high pricing could be avoided once when the pet gets older and begin to have variety of ailments…this is just a thought…
Manel, unfortunately, basic pet insurance won\’t cover this. Long-term care or surgery will cost more in premiums and gets more expensive as the dog ages. The only way around that is to purchase the pet insurance when the dog was a healthy puppy and keep up the premiums the entire dog\’s life in order for them not to go up as the dog ages. Most people don\’t think that far ahead. So sad for this dog and his people. May they both get the help they so richly deserve.
A woman in my nneighborhood moved away and left her beautiful, wonderful, purring, friendly cat! I used to hate her but now I am glad because he is mine. He had a tumor on his hind leg from rabies vaccination. Thankfully I had a $10,000 credit limit on my visa so I had his leg amputated and cance treatment for him. He is 2 years and 8 months cancer free and he doesn\’t mind having only three legs, I will never payoff the credit card as I will turn 76 when he is 3 years cancer free–but who cares!
You are a beautiful human being. Thank you for being so caring and saved this beautiful soul. I wish you and him a very long and happy life.
betty jo you are a gem :) I wish there more people like you out there . god bless
Bless you, Betty Jo, for taking in this wonderful little creature and giving him a great life. I would do the same thing if I was able to….he will repay you many times !
