We often tell the stories of animals who have been found in the worst of circumstances of neglect, abuse, or abandonment. It’s the happy endings, however, that make us smile, give us hope, and the motivation to continue telling the stories of these innocent beings. A few weeks ago, we posted about a beautiful boxer mix named Numbers.

He was rescued from an open-access shelter by the Trio Animal Foundation (TAF)and was one of the most petrified dogs they’d ever come across.

But, Numbers’ happy ending has just begun! Since he has been in the care of TAF, he has discovered that he no longer has to be afraid of everyone and everything.

He has learned to trust, play, and as you can see in the photo, SMILE! And boy did he smile a lot when he got to play with TAF’s therapy dog, Antler!

Look at that big, goofy grin. Numbers even gave Antler a kiss!

Trio Animal Foundation is a non-profit based in Chicago, Illinois that assists shelters, rescues, and individuals with financial assistance. They also promote adoption and responsible pet ownership, including spay and neutering. The foundation also saves thousands of sick and injured homeless animals in open access shelters.
