Yep, you read that right. The Minnesota town of Cormorant just elected a dog as their new mayor! His name is Duke and he’s the most adorable mayor we’ve ever seen.
We don’t quite know whether the citizens of Cormorant (all 12 of them) are ahead of their time, or if they’re just running short on humans to fill the job. But we here at OGP do know we have never seen a mayor that’s quite this cute. No doubt this new mayor will have a higher approval rating than most of congress! After all, even if you disagreed with some of his policies, (maybe you just didn’t think his campaign platform of “more kibble for all” was really relevant to you) you’d probably still want to hug this guy.
So, good on you Cormorant! And good luck to you, Mayor Duke! And even though it’s still early, we hope you get re-elected.
