When Hope For Paws got a call about a beautiful dog who was abandoned at a construction site, they quickly arrived and found the unfortunate pup. The rescuers secured the area right after spotting the dog so that he would not escape out of fear. The dog was lying in the debris, very visibly frightened – so much so that he would not even move an inch. The rescuers used a tactic that works fabulously with many frightened dogs – they lured him with some food.
Still terrified, the dog allowed the team to come closer and munched on his treat, while the rescuers were trying to figure out how to get him out of the spot. Finally, a Lucky Leash was placed around the pup’s neck and, very hesitatingly but steadily, he began to make little steps. But the dog was so hesitant to walk and frightened that the team had to physically put him in a crate with the help of the woman who had contacted them about the pup – he was simply too scared to move!
The dog got a new name – Odin – and was taken right to the hospital where he was neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Luckily, soon after, his life changed forever – his friends at Much Love found him a forever home and because of that, he could finally start a completely new happy life.
