Broccoli is not the world’s favorite vegetable. Along with Brussels sprouts, broccoli tends to be the least favorite dish at the potluck. Dexter the rat seems to share this view. He absolutely detests broccoli, despite his mom’s constant attempts to make him eat this healthy food.
“Eat your broccoli, Dexter!”
It brings us back to the childhood memory of being stuck at the dining room table with that one, horrible piece of broccoli mocking us from the plate.
Dexter is lucky, though. Instead of being stuck (for what seems like an eternity) at the dinner table, he is able to tell his mom “no, thanks.” After politely refusing the broccoli, his mom places the vegetable in his cozy, little hide-away.
So, Dexter does what we all want to do, he throws it right back out. His mother, wanting the best for adorable rat, pushes the folic-acid-filled food back into the house. Once again, Dexter pushes the broccoli right back out. There is no convincing this adorable, little rat. Broccoli is not on tonight’s menu for Dexter!
