A wandering cow, named Phyllis, had the luckiest day of her life when she strayed into a Conservation area. The grassy area was located dangerously close to a freeway, which could have been bad news, but thanks to a good samaritan who called the rescue organization, Edgar’s Mission, she now has a new lease on life.
Once they had Phyllis’ location locked in, the Edgar’s team set out to save the day.
The Conservation area’s open field and proximity to a busy freeway proved to be a challenge to the rescue team. But with diligence and some serious corralling skills, Edgar’s Mission was able to safely guide Phyllis into their truck and bring her to the sanctuary. How Phyllis ended up in the field is unknown, but judging by her tagged ear, we can guess that she escaped from a nearby farm.
“Thank you for giving her a chance” were the final words from a dedicated rescuer to the people who had made the call. We couldn’t agree more — without their quick thinking, Phyllis the cow may not have had the chance for a life of peace.
