There are those who stand stock still in the midst of confrontation as a means of intimidation, and there are those that bounce around with a puffed up chest in the hopes of scaring their opponent away before they actually have to get physical.
We’ll call the first one the “Statue Strategy” and the second the “Jersey Shore Offensive.”
In a classic example of these tactics in action, a Pug and a Yorkshire terrier engage in a tête-a-tête for territory. The pug seems very put off by the Yorkshire terrier’s presence on his turf and the Yorkie, for his part, isn’t giving up any ground. It’s difficult to say who’s coming out on top here. On one hand, the Pug’s fancy footwork is so on point that he actually works himself up into a sneeze attack. On the other, the Yorkie remains utterly unmoved.
Of course, the Yorkie is actually a ceramic statue, so any movement on his part would be an entirely different discussion.

I have a German Shepherd that does not like my artificial well in my front yard and growls, hair stands up and barks at it every chance she gets.
cute as all get out. What a pretty pug!
I have a life-sized Talavera ceramic pug. The first day I had it, I put it next to my pugs\’ water bowl because I thought it looked cute there. My female pug had the exact same reaction as this pug, even going so far as to work herself up into a sneezing fit. This video really made me laugh and brought back the memory of that. She is used to it now and it doesn\’t bother her a bit.
