This adorable bulldog puppy likes to think he’s ferocious in his epic battle against his new ice cube toy, but we all know the ice cube is obviously winning.
Dogs are funny when it comes to ice. It might be something about the smell, or maybe it’s just the cold that they dislike. Some dogs even like them — they do make fun toys, after all.
There has been some discussion over the last few years as to whether ice cubes are dangerous for dogs or not, and the vast majority of veterinarians say no. Ice cubes, in limited quantities, are fine for dogs to eat and play with. The one thing you don’t want to do regarding your dog and ice cubes or ice water, however, is to try to treat your dog’s heatstroke yourself by putting them in ice cubes or an ice bath. Our furry friends don’t want to go from one temperature extreme to another any more than we humans do. Otherwise, let your puppy have at it. Ice is as fine for dogs to consume, just be sure to keep an eye on them.
