Dr. Bronner’s Supports Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and Plant Medicines

Dr. Bronner’s has always been a progressive company, and its products feature labels preaching brotherly love and world peace. So it wasn’t a surprise when this company began to back the government’s efforts to decriminalize and test psychedelics.

The soap company based out of California is most known for its sustainable, no synthetic preservative, natural soaps. Most of their products are vegan and certified organic. They claim their products are the best for humans, homes, and the Earth.

They began to promote psychedelic-assisted therapy on their limited edition soap bottles. This all started thanks to David Bronner, grandson of the founder and C.E.O (Cosmic Engagement Officer). David has been very open in sharing his psychedelic experiences.

He was first introduced to psychedelics in Amsterdam, where he took a combination of LSD and Ecstasy. David says this caused him to see visions of Jesus, his grandfather, and a dialogue with his deep self. This all enabled him to combat his toxic masculinity and troubled relationships.

Dr. Bronner’s has always been known for having an open mind and evolving with the times. Recently they became the first company in the U.S. to offer ketamine therapy as part of their employee health coverage.

“Our grandpa was all about shifting consciousness and opening hearts and minds,” David said, “He probably would have put LSD in his soaps.”

Ketamine Therapy for depression has become increasingly popular. Many states and counties are on the road to decriminalizing psychedelics, along with Denver, Seattle, and dozens of other cities. The FDA is also considering approving MDMA or Ecstasy for post-traumatic stress disorder treatment.

“Let’s face it, the world would be a far better place if more people experienced psychedelic medicines,” said David.

The company is a significant financial supporter of loosening government restrictions on illegal drugs. Since 2015, the company has donated more than $23 million to drug advocacy and research, according to corporate documents. These include the investigation into drugs like ecstasy, psilocybin, and peyote. Of course, the company has also put millions into cannabis legalization and helped reverse the 2018 federal prohibition on hemp cultivation.

Many institutions are already studying what psychedelics can do to treat anxiety, depression, addiction, and other mental health disorders.

The company’s unconventional business model is paving the way for many other sustainable companies. They Donate 40% of profits annually to activists and charities. They also have an executive pay cap, which means the top salaries at the company cannot exceed five times that of the lowest-paid employee. Their employees also receive a wide range of benefits like $7,500 in childcare assistance and annual bonuses. The cafeteria serves free vegan meals every day and they provide free Zumba classes, back massages, and solar-powered electric vehicle charging stations.

It’s impressive that this company is being so open and loud about their Support of these issues and helping to decriminalize something that many believe shouldn’t have been criminal in the first place. There are already links to psychedelics helping with physical and mental health, and Support like this could leave room for these drugs to be tested.
