The journey of mtrl.bike began in 2014 when Johannes Alderse Baas envisioned a bicycle constructed from recycled materials. This idea has evolved into a tangible product with the launch of the RCYL brand. As of now, mtrl.bike, previously known as DutchFiets, is preparing for small-scale production of these eco-friendly bicycles. The company has announced that the initial batch of 100 bikes will be available in the Cologne area, Germany, by early 2024, with pre-orders already being accepted.
