A third of Americans have been arrested or convicted of a crime. Often, these cases involve minor and non-violent offenses, yet can lead to these people having trouble getting jobs, getting into school, and even finding housing. Recently, Michigan passed a Clean Slate law, which helps expunge the criminal records of people who have served their time and remained crime-free. But only a small percentage of states have passed this type of legislation. Please sign this petition to urge Congress to pass the Clean Slate Act and Fresh Start Act!
