As the presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump looms, a myriad of pressing issues are at stake, from healthcare and the economy to Climate change and social justice.
On the other side, the excitement is building for a powerful new rap anthem that has taken social media by storm: “Lotus for POTUS.” This vibrant track, created in collaboration with Event Rap, aims to rally Support for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign as it encapsulates the spirit and vision that her candidacy represents.
The song features an impressive lineup of artists, including Queens rappers Jam Young and Lex Rush, Brooklyn’s Dex McBean, and Canadian science rapper Baba Brinkman. The musical landscape is enriched by sitar riffs from Neel Murgai, Artistic Director of Brooklyn Raga Massive, and lively hypeman vocals by Erik B for President. A unique touch comes from Preeta Sinha, the Founder of One Green Planet, who delivers a poignant Hindi monologue that bridges the gap between culture and advocacy.
In a powerful visual statement, all the artists in the music video sport the “Kamala Harris for President” and “Lotus for POTUS” t-shirts made from recycled, plastic-free, carbon-neutral materials by sustainable cause-based brand, TinyRescue.
The rap lyrics emphasize the necessity for leadership and meaningful change, encouraging listeners to build a better future and engage in activism as a lifestyle. They address critical issues such as equality, sustainable living, and access to healthcare while highlighting the importance of reproductive rights and the urgency of social justice. Through collective voices, the anthem showcases the call for unity and the reclaiming of narratives, urging individuals to actively participate in the fight against systemic racism and advocate for a brighter, more inclusive future.
The anthem also weaves its core messages of sustainability and activism throughout its catchy verses, chorus, hook, and bridge emphasizing the importance of green living and addressing Climate change. It advocates for practices such as farm-to-table initiatives and clean energy, highlighting the collective responsibility to protect the planet for future generations.
The message is clear: with Kamala Harris as a leader, there is hope for restoring the planet, bringing back joy in politics, and creating a society where everyone belongs.
The anthem is a powerful movement aimed at mobilizing voters and amplifying Kamala’s message to the world through hip-hop. This sentiment is reflected throughout the anthem, addressing major social and environmental issues that resonate with Kamala’s campaign messaging.
The anthem is a celebration of diversity and culture, paying homage to Kamala Harris’ Indian heritage by incorporating Hindi and the sitar. It serves as a reminder that the fight for progress is a collective effort that transcends borders and backgrounds.
As we approach the crucial moments leading up to the November 4th election, we invite everyone to share this anthem widely. Help raise funds for the campaign and spread the message of unity and change that “Lotus for POTUS” embodies.
We invite everyone to pre-save or download “Lotus for POTUS” on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, with the song also available on all major streaming platforms. Proceeds from each download will be donated to the Harris Victory Fund, highlighting our commitment to social and political engagement.
