Woman Faces Backlash After Forcing Husband to Give Up Elderly Cat

A woman is facing a great deal of backlash on social media after she confessed to forcing her husband to give up his 18-year-old cat. The woman went to Reddit to try to garner sympathy but received the opposite response. People were disgusted by the woman’s behavior.

When the newly wedded couple moved in together, the woman brought her 3-year-old dog, and her husband is brought his cat. The two animals never got along and were fighting daily and the woman claimed that the cat was the aggressor. After becoming pregnant, she began to coax her husband to give his cat away, saying that she was afraid that the cat would also be aggressive towards her baby. Thus, she asked her husband to take the cat to a sanctuary to be rehomed. After much arguing, the husband finally relented and parted with his elderly cat.

The woman said, “We argued virtually nonstop about this for days until my husband finally agreed to take his cat to said cat sanctuary. However, he is still pretty upset with me.”

In response to the Reddit outrage, the woman tried to defend herself, saying that she would have given up her dog had he been the aggressor.

But people were still not happy with how the woman behaved. One Redditor said, “You are so horrid I cannot even. This cat has maybe a year left in his life, and instead of living with his human, you sent him away to die without his family.”
