Every dog adoption story is amazing! Whether there were extraordinary circumstances, such as the Pani from Iran whose bottom legs are paralyzed or just a fortunate doggy in the shelter with her stuffed animal being given a second chance at a happy life. But some stories are really incredible, and it seems that a dog and a human cross each other’s paths because their lives were totally meant to intersect. Such is the case for Khemjira Klongsanun and her new puppy, Chombueng!
Klongsanun was seven miles into the marathon in Ratchaburi, western Thailand on January 20 when she saw some athletes dodging a puppy on the street. She knelt down and coaxed the puppy to her. There were no humans around who seemed to be with the puppy and it was clear he was lost. She picked up the dog, cradled him, and continued running!
She carried the puppy for 19 miles and crossed the finish line! After the marathon, there was still no one claiming the puppy was a part of their family, so she adopted the pup and named him “Chombueng” after the name of the marathon. Klongsanun said: ”It seemed to me that this little guy was lost. There were no houses, no other dogs, or no people around. So, I picked up the puppy, if only to take him out of the unsafe environment.”
She forever has this amazing adoption story to tell and footage to show. Chombueng was clearly destined to be a part of her family!
