The ASPCA and Dave Bautista Partner Up For Animals in Need

This Giving Tuesday, the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has enlisted the Support of actor Dave Bautista to shine a spotlight on the journey of rescued animals and encourage public Support. Dave Bautista, best known for his roles in both wrestling and acting, is not only a dedicated advocate for animal welfare but also a loving pet parent to four adopted pit bulls—Ollie, Maggie, Penny, and Talulah.

Dave Bautista’s journey into the world of animal advocacy began five years ago when he adopted his first two dogs, Ollie and Maggie. Since then, he has been a vocal supporter of pet adoption and a consistent champion for pit bulls, a breed that often faces stereotypes and discrimination. His passion for his pets and his unwavering compassion for animals in need make him an ideal partner for GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to inspiring people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

“I adopted Ollie and Maggie about five years ago, and the connection I have with them made me realize how many dogs are waiting for loving homes,” shared Dave Bautista. “Adopting a pet is not just about giving them a second chance; it’s about the joy and fulfillment they bring to your life. I’ll continue advocating for adoption for the rest of my life because every second chance for these animals starts with someone like you, or me.”

On this Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season, Dave Bautista is urging the public to join him in supporting animals by donating funds or supplies, adopting homeless animals, or volunteering their time. The goal is to provide more animals with the second chances they deserve and to raise awareness about the importance of adopting pets from shelters.

The ASPCA emphasizes the need for Support for the thousands of animals across the country awaiting meals, shelter, and care before finding their forever homes. Every rescued animal’s journey begins with the compassion of animal lovers who are willing to make a difference.

Matt Bershadker, ASPCA president and CEO, expressed gratitude for Dave Bautista’s dedication to animal welfare, stating, “Dave Bautista’s compassion for homeless animals and advocacy for pit bulls, in particular, make him a powerful ambassador for GivingTuesday, inspiring his fans and many others to adopt, foster, and contribute to the health and welfare of shelter animals, even before those animals are ready for new homes.”
