When a tiny black kitten arrived at a California shelter, she and her brother were in desperate need of a foster home. Shelter worker Koreena Walsh stepped up and took the pair home. The kitten was named Footloose, and her brother was called Fancy Free. However, within a short period, it became clear that something was wrong with Footloose. The kitten was not growing and “looks like an alien.” A vet diagnosed the kitten with a rare genetic disorder and gave her only a few months to live.
Although Koreena was heartbroken, she decided to give Footloose the best few months possible. The pair set out to experience as much life as possible in a short amount of time. The tiny kitten got to go on a hike, stay in a hotel, see the ocean, eat lots of treats, and play with many toys. However, his favorite activity was going to the park and napping in the sunshine.
Eventually, Footloose’s health deteriorated. The kitten passed near her beloved caretaker, at one of her favorite spots. Although her life was short, it was full of love.
The video detailing the kitten’s life has been liked over 499,000 times on TikTok. People commended Koreena for giving the kitten the best life possible in the short amount of time she had.
