Five Rescued Factory-Farmed Chickens

Behind the walls of factory farms lie untold stories of confinement and longing for freedom. Five stories of chickens, once trapped in the harsh conditions of factory farming, have found new beginnings through rescue efforts. Their journeys highlight the power of compassion and shed light on the realities faced by animals in modern agriculture.

1. An Amazing Transformation

Feces-covered chickens were rescued from a factory farm by an activist, Geoff Regier. Through an investigation, he and his team found them on an egg farm, close to death. One bird in particular, Miley, had barely any feathers and could have suffered a similar fate to other birds at the farm, who drowned in feces. After being taken to the vet, they made a huge transformation.

This chicken was caught on camera walking outside for the first time. Fleur was a commercial hen that was shoved at the bottom of a crate with no feathers when she was found. After being rescued, she was nursed back to health through a delicious diet and plenty of outdoor time.

4. Pepper’s Story

Pepper arrived at the Mercy for Animals Sanctuary after spending her life at an industrialized meat farm. She had been genetically manipulated to grow as fast as possible which caused health issues that made her unable to walk. Now, she is in a safe space.

5. Babs’ Story

Babs was rescued by Animal Rising campaigners from an RSPCA-assured farm. She was found at an egg farm in appalling conditions. She was missing feathers and shoved into a crowded room, forced to lay eggs for the rest of her life.

The stories of these five rescued chickens remind us of the importance of advocating for animal welfare and supporting ethical farming practices. By fostering empathy and making informed choices as consumers, we can contribute to a future where every animal is treated with respect. Each rescue represents a step toward a more compassionate world, where the freedom and well-being of all beings are valued!
